  7.     Since we have said farewell;
  8.     And beauty with an alien speech
  9.     An alien tale would tell.

  11.     There is a silence in the world,
  12.     Which is not peace nor quiet:
  13.     Ever I seek to flee therefrom,
  14.     And walk the ways of riot.

  16.     But when I hear the music moan
  17.     In rooms of thronging laughter,
  18.     A tongueless demon drives me forth,
  19.     And silence follows after.
